The Solution This company manufactures more than 500,000 automobiles annually and is one of its vehicle brand's top five global manufacturing facilities. Consistently recognized by JD Powers & Associates for its manufacturing quality, the company was the first plant outside Japan to be awarded luxury vehicle production, has received numerous AJAC and JD Power gold awards for quality, and is also considered one of Canada's leading employers for its family-friendliness, diversity, and green initiatives. With procedures consisting of paper-based workflows, Excel spreadsheets, a business intelligence (BI) solution, as well as a separate workplace safety software program, the company's leadership found it difficult to view health and safety data on a macro level. In addition, the disparate databases often led to incomplete or missing information. According to the company's Assistant Manager of Safety and Wellness, "Our supervisors had difficulty understanding the status of an incident or injury investigation. And, the follow-up procedures weren't always clear. We needed a solution to help us standardize our occupational health processes and centralize our data." To resolve its challenges, the company released an RFP seeking an incident management solution that was flexible enough to be implemented with a modular approach, could support multiple facilities, and offered rigorous security. This manufacturer selected Cority because its configurable solution could accommodate the company's modular implementation approach. The solution gave the company an approval workflow with escalations, kaizens, user views with role- based layouts, as well as robust BI capabilities to generate reports at the site level.
